Join Us for the Aoba Matsuri Service – Honoring the Birth of Kōbō Daishi
We warmly invite you to attend the Aoba Matsuri Service on Sunday, June 14th at 1:30 PM at the Northern California Koyasan Temple.
The Aoba Matsuri is a cherished Shingon Buddhist ceremony held in celebration of the birth of Kōbō Daishi (Kūkai), the founder of our tradition. “Aoba” means “green leaves,” symbolizing spiritual renewal and the fresh vitality of the Dharma.
This is a time for our temple community to come together in gratitude, reflection, and reverence for the life and teachings of Kōbō Daishi. The service will include sutra chanting, incense offerings, and a message from our reverend.
