The Northern California Koyasan Temple’s annual Toronagashi Festival will be held along the Mayor Anne Rudin Peace Pond in William Land Regional Park on Saturday, August 12, 2023, beginning at 5:00 p.m. It will start with a picnic dinner followed with a service by Reverend Mimatsu, obon dancing, performances by the Koyasan Taiko Group, and will end with the Floating Lantern ceremony. Candle-lit memorial lanterns are placed in the water to help guide the spirits of our departed loved ones as they return to their place in the spirit world.
