The Northern California Koyasan Temple will be celebrating its annual New Year’s Shusho-e Service on Saturday, January 1, 2022, at 11:00 am via Zoom. During the service, the Goma Fire Ritual will be performed by Reverend Mimatsu. The Goma Fire Ritual symbolizes the burning away of human suffering by the Buddha as we pray for our wishes to come true. Soe-Gomagi, the wooden sticks used to convey our prayer(s) and/or wish(es) to the Buddha, will be prepared for each person by Reverend Mimatsu.

Download the Soe-Gomagi Application Form (PDF format or MS Word Format) that you may use to write your prayer(s) and/or wish(es). To allow Reverend Mimatsu ample time to prepare the Soe-Gomagi sticks, please return your form to the Temple no later than Wednesday, December 29, 2021.

Please make donations by check only. Mail your completed form and check to NC Koyasan Temple / Soe-Gomagi, 1400 U Street, Sacramento, CA 95818.
