Description
Ojuzu are like Buddhist rosary beads: they’re used to count repetitions of mantra, to give you a physical sensation as you work your way through your practice and meditation. To use your long ojuzu, please note the two “tails;” this cleanly separates the beads into two halves: one side is for you to count, and the other is reserved for Kobo Daishi.
So drape your ojuzu over your hand so that you can thumb through the beads on one side, and when you hit the marker with the Kobo Daishi bead, flip the whole thing over and count back through the same side.
