Announcements for November 2018

Temple and Altar Clean-up - The annual Temple and altar clean-up will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2018, beginning at 9:00 a.m.  All the altar religious objects will be washed and polished, as well as general clean-up of the sanctuary, social hall, and the building exterior and surrounding grounds. The Temple welcomes and greatly appreciates any assistance from members who are available to help.

Evening Meditation Session - The November session is scheduled for Tuesday, November 13, 2018, starting at 7:00 p.m. in the Temple sanctuary.

Monthly Daishiku Service - The monthly Daishiku Service will be held on Sunday, November 18, 2018, starting at 1:30 p.m.

Shichi-Go-San and Children’s Blessing Service - Shichi-Go-San is a special annual service that prays for the healthy growth and long life of boys aged 3 and 5 and girls aged 3 and 7.  The Children’s Blessing Service prays for the health and well being of all children.  The Sho-Kannon Shichi-Go-San Special Prayer Service and Children’s Blessing Service are scheduled for Sunday, November 25, 2018, starting at 1:30 p.m. in the Temple sanctuary.  The registration cost is $35.00 per childPlease submit your desired service application form to the Temple by Sunday, November 18, 2018.  Click on the link to download a pdf of the Shichi-Go-San registration form or Children’s Blessing registration form.  Click on the link to view the service poster.

Trying to find a form?  Most Temple forms are available under the “Calendar” link above.  Go to the current year and then the month the event will be happening.  Links to the form are there by the date of the event.  Links are disabled after the event has passed.  Membership forms are under the “Membership” link above.

New Ojuzu - Some new bracelet ojuzu are now available.  Similar to the other bracelet types but without the tassel.  The large bead contains a gold picture of Kobo Daishi.  Click on the link to view the different types available. 

Update on Parking at the CALFIRE Parking Lot - CALFIRE is now allowing Temple guests to park in their lot as it was before the restaurant opened on the corner of 14th & V.  No placard is required.  As most Temple events occur on weekends or after office hours, the lot owner will not have cars towed.
