Announcements for August 2019

Evening Meditation Session - The August session is scheduled for Tuesday, August 13, 2019, starting at 7:00 p.m. in the Temple sanctuary. 

Annual Toro Nagashi Ritual & Picnic - The 41st Annual Toro Nagashi Ritual and picnic will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019, at William Land Park.  We will be at the “Mayor Ann Rudin Peace Pond” (formerly known as the “Boat Lake”.  The schedule is as follows:

5:00 p.m. - Potluck picnic

6:30 p.m. - Taiko performance followed by obon odori

7:30 p.m. - Toro Nagashi service

8:00 p.m. - Lantern floating

ACC Nursing Home Visitation - A visitation and service by Rev. Mimatsu at the ACC Nursing Home (7801 Rush River Dr., Sacramento, CA  95831) is scheduled for Tuesday, August 20, 2019, starting at 11:00 a.m.

August Fujinkai Workshop - The Fujinkai’s August workshop will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2019, from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m., in the Temple’s social hall.  There is no charge for the workshop, so everyone is invited to attend.  And the Fujinkai serves tasty refreshments!

Trying to find a form?  Most Temple event forms are available under the “Calendar” link above.  Go to the current year and then the month the event will be happening.  Links to the forms are there by the date of the event.  Links are disabled after the event has passed.  Membership forms are under the “Membership” link above.

Parking Restrictions Around the Temple - The City of Sacramento is enforcing parking restrictions in the area around the Temple.  This will impact any Temple activities during the week and on Saturdays.  The owner of the CalFire lot across the street is graciously allowing Temple members and guests to park in the CalFire lot and alley spaces on the weekends and after business hours (after 5:00 pm).  More information with a grid map is available at the City of Sacramento website:
